Making A Decision On Pageant Jewelry

By Georgia Diaz

Competing in a beauty competition is an exciting endeavor for many people, a lot of young men and women like to participate in this event as they get to show off their beauty which is made possible with the use of different wardrobe and Pageant jewelry. The participants must know that they will be judged on every tiny detail, starting with the dress color to the necklaces and bracelets. Therefore contestants should make sure they choose the right ornaments for the occasion.

When shopping for ornaments, the contestant is required to know that the competition has its rules that dictate what people are allowed to wear. The contestants may like a certain trinket which the judges do not allow to be worn in the completion, however most contests make the regulations known from the first day of the completion. To reduce the risk of disqualification, participants should have a copy of the official house rules before they decide on the ornament to wear.

Trinkets should display color and glamour; this glamour should also compliment the dress and other wardrobe. Choosing ornaments can be hectic especially where there is a variety to pick from. The amount of charms the contestant decides to wear is up to them, it is recommended that instead of putting on many ornaments, the participants should try wearing one or two pieces.

The fashion industry frequently experiences changes to its styles and designs. Therefore participants must understand the current trends in this industry. They should use this factor in selecting the charms to wear, what is considered the latest design can be utilized when contestants want to make a lasting impression. All in all if the theme of the event is modern (most usually are) the participant must also appear modern and fashionable.

New jewel can be very expensive at times and may not be afforded by the participants. However there are shops that sell second hand ornaments that are less expensive than new ones, some other shops also rent the accessories out to willing people. Since many pageants are a one-day occasion there is no need of buying the charms, instead a participant should go with hiring in order to save on cost.

Wardrobe and the gems chosen are required to match. This does not give the participants the license to buy expensive full sets of charms because they could not find cheap ones. The ornaments do not have to be a full set; they simply need to look alike.

After the ornaments have been bought or rented, they are required to be examined whether they are in good condition. Tiny mistakes with the charms may not look serious to the contestants but someone else may have a different opinion. The judges are only interested in perfection and the participant may risk being deducted points for damaged charms.

Skin tone dictates a lot in the type of pageant jewelry to be worn. Gold charms tend to compliment dark and warm colored skins while platinum and silver compliment lighter and cooler skins. Some trinkets have a mixture of different metals and can go well with all skin tones. Choosing the right gems to wear is very important.
