In addition to that, it is important that the requesting individual be able to provide their contact details on the request form. This will be used to document the access of the files.

The state's Department of Health under the Vital Statistics office manages the public documents of Kansas and this includes the death records of the state. One can request for a copy of the file from the said office if the document was registered not earlier than 1911. For records before that year, it has to be requested at the county office where the death was registered. Mail request can also be sent to the state office; however all of the required documents and information has to be enclosed on the request to avoid delay and hassle.
