Layered Hair Styles And Braided Hair Styles

By Darren Hartley

Layered hair styles are fit for a woman looking out to freshen up her style while adding a little volume to her hair at the same time. Adaptable to any face shape, the layered look is also applicable to any type of hair, be it straight or curly. A woman who is on the look out for a hairstyle that provides both professionalism and chicness to the hair is bound to find herself satisfied with layering her hair.

There are three factors for consideration in the adoption of flattering layered hair styles, i.e., the hair texture, the face shape and the style preferences. Layering tends to add body to the hair, particularly when the layers are cut short in length with sharper distinctions between the hair lengths. Therefore, for hair already full-bodied, or for that matter, curly, longer layers not differing too much in length would be the option.

As far as face shape is concerned, longer layered hair styles are paired with round or square faces. Shorter layered hair styles go hand in hand with ovular or heart shaped ones. For cutting the layers, sharp barber scissors of the professional grade must be purchased from a beauty salon, if not a drugstore. Do not even think of using craft scissors or kitchen scissors, if you do not want to regret cutting your hair for the rest of your life.

That braided hair styles are damaging to the hair is a myth. Women who have braided their hair are in unison in saying so. Shedding hair is part of growing old. Some, however, shed hair more than others and when the shedding becomes excessive and out of the normal, then it becomes a problem indeed. Still, as far as braiding is concerned, only dead hair falls out from the process. As far as the quantity of hair that falls out, it is never outside of the usual.

There are steps that may be taken to lessen the hair breakage from braided hair styles. The hairline and hair roots can be maintained by not having too tight braids. The hair edges must not be part of the braiding process as well. The hair must also be given a breather from braiding, that is, there must at least be two weeks in between wearing braids.
